Jake & Alexus

“Yay for the bride!” “Yay for the bride!” This was the chant that the bridesmaids did for Alexus all morning as she got ready. It was such a fun filled day filled with such positive energy and a whole lot of belly laughs.

The weather in Sioux City called for 100 percent storms all day. This obviously can make a bride feel stressed and a little down. Jake & Alexus didn’t seem to even notice the forecast. In fact, it wasn’t even brought up once. They knew their day was ending as husband and wife and that’s all that really mattered. And guess what?!? It only sprinkled at the very tail end of their day. Alexus didn’t seem one bit stressed when her dress wasn’t finished or ready for pick up the day before. Not one little bit! She was more excited about being Jake’s wifey than let that little detail ruin her day. And you guessed it….her dress arrived right at 10:00 am that morning. So, just for good measure, “Yay for the bride, Yay for the bride!”

Days like these are magical. Rain is always a recipe for rainbows. And you seriously can’t beat a good rainbow. Am I right?

The Roberts

There were several times during this session that I was triggered by my cuteness aggression. What is cuteness aggression? It’s defined as the urge to squeeze, scream, or “die” over someone or something so cute you can barely stand it. So there we were, off the beaten path, cuteness TIMES THREE. This session was so fun and laid back! Our girl Bijou, directed the poses and provided the comic relief while Leo just did Leo and we freaking LOVE Leo. And we made it through without squeezing little Lewie 🙂

When our brides have babies our hearts want to burst with excitement! But when one of your favorite couples is having a baby you get some smoke bombs and light those puppies up. Kota & Emi

Kota & Emi’s wedding day was a perfect reflection of how they are as a couple. The day was intimate, the energy was calm and we felt surround by love from the beginning to the end. Their families flew all the way from Japan to be apart of their special day and surrounded by their closest friends and family they said “I do” . The ceremony took place inside this magical floral paradise at the beautiful Lauritzen Gardens in the very peak of Spring. Their reception was full of fanciful and charming details, mostly handmade by Emi and the entire party was seated at one long table. Making a saki bomb cheers the perfect arms length away from your neighboor across the way. The evening ended with a few cocktails, some trivia and Kota & Emi sporting fake mustaches on the dance floor. So yeah, we’d say it was night to remember.

Jake, Alexus and Bri are our favorite three people! We love when humans request the presence of their beloved pups and we couldn’t have been happier at how their engagement session went! Located in the Loess Hills, we took off on our adventure just as the sun was setting. Every time we do an engagement session in the Hills, we are in awe of it’s beauty! Fun Fact: Did you know black squirrels are only from two places in the world….Loess Hills and the Yellow River Valley in China. Luckily for Bri(their pup) we didn’t run into any 🙂 We absolutely love how these turned out and can hardly wait for their wedding next year!

Dan & Jordan’s love is so very sweet. It’s so kind and gentle. It feels and looks so effortless. They are a dream to photograph because their love is so easy to capture.

These two love to travel together! So Vail, Colorado was a perfect destination for their nuptials. They packed up their two pups and two cats and hit the road to say their “I do’s”. And what a perfect location! Vail simply belongs in a photograph. From the mountain scape in the background to the adorable little town center, we were struck by the beauty of the blue ridges and the even bluer skies. Tim & Melissa are two of our favorite people! They say that they are so lucky to have worked with us BUT we are the ones that are forever grateful. We learned so much from these two. We didn’t just document their love, we witnessed it and we felt it down to the very core of our fat hearts. Their day was absolutely perfect…with one minor mishap at the end that left our lovely bride in the back of an ambulance headed to the hospital. Kyle & Ashlin are seriously THE BEST. Honestly, it was love at first sight for us but when they asked us to be their wedding photographers with a poem, the deal was sealed. Not only are they pretty much the funnest people to be around, their families had the biggest and baddest dance party we have ever witnessed(and slightly took part in). Ashlin kept the day completely traditional from the veil (it’s her mothers) to church she and her four siblings went to grade school at. John & Maggie are so much fun to be around! We literally laughed during our entire session together, so much so that our cheeks hurt when we called it a night. We met with Alyssa on a cold winter day at a small coffee shop in Omaha. The moment we met her we knew two things; she was over the moon excited to marry Tyler and she had been waiting for this day her entire life. Even a year away, Alyssa had every detail beautifully planned out in her mind. So, when we arrived at The Holland Performing Arts Center for their ceremony, it was exactly as she had described it. Alyssa was glowing in love. And Tyler was just as excited to be her husband, These two are meant for each other and it gleamed through their eyes. We hadn’t met Tyler until the day of their wedding but we instantly fell in love with him! And his personality poured out on the dance floor. Their day was beautiful and their evening was an absolute blast. We could spend forever with these two! Lucky for them, they get to do that with each other! Here’s to many years of happiness! Aaron & Shannon | Married

Shannon & Aaron couldn’t be any cooler if they tried! The day started at the beautiful Magnolia Hotel in downtown Omaha (we LOVE the LIGHT at the Magnolia). After the bridal party was prepped, we headed to the Temple Israel for their traditional Jewish ceremony, which was absolutely beautiful and refreshing. Then it was to the gorgeous Lauritzen Gardens for their succulent filled reception! AND to top it all off, we basically had back stage access because Aaron had worked there for the past 7 years! How lucky are we?!?!

We just love getting to know our clients and their families and seeing their love shine through. Aaron & Shannon have a beaming relationship! They are supportive of each others’ dreams and aspirations and they just have something that we all strive to have. The kind of love that makes you feel good, just by being around them. Being with them all day was effortless and breezy! And getting to know their families was such a lovely treat. We are forever grateful for these two! So here’s to you guys, Shannon & Aaron! Sean & Katie | Married

We seriously feel so so blessed to have had documented this wedding. Katie & Sean said their “I do’s” in Cancun, Mexico at the beautiful Sapphire Now Resort. Thanks to Your Travel Center and our amazing travel agent, Kristine Thiessen-Randall we had the time of our lives. Spending the week with Katie & Sean’s family and their closest friends was really a beautiful experience and one that will forever be remembered in our hearts. Kati & Bobby are two of our favorite people. Why? Because they are so unique and different from each other it’s refreshingly beautiful. With a live band playing in the background, we danced the night away with their closest friends and family. It was so perfect that the Amazing Stinko even bloomed, a rare plant that has opened up only 200 times in history, and never in Nebraska. The night was a stinkin’ hit (lol). We are so happy that Jason & Nicole’s hearts found each other. They are seriously soulmates with so much love to give that it literally radiates from them. The Popken’s farm in Fremont is a perfect little red barn for a small and intimate wedding. When we arrived we felt like we had found a little piece of heaven nestled right here in Nebraska. Brady & Katie are such a fun and unique couple! Their wedding was tailored made just for the two of them. It had a lot of class and a little bit of twang all mixed into one. Katie, originally from the midwest and Brady. a farmer from the South. These two customized their special day to fit each of their wants and desires. The wedding took place at the beautiful St. Vincent DePaul and the reception was held at the amazing Omaha Design Center. They even took dance lessons for their very first dance as man & wife. We were beyond happy to celebrate their big day with them and we even ended the night with a celebratory cigar from their cigar bar. We LOVE our couples!

Mike & Brooke wanted an open air vibe to their engagement session so we headed to Lake Zorinsky because of its vast sky and native tall grasses.
