Your wedding day is quickly approaching.  And that means pretty soon someone is going to be snapping a boatload of pictures of you and your dearly beloved.  Are you prepared to have a camera aimed in your direction for hours on end?  It probably isn’t something you’re used to– unless you’re a hotshot celebrity.  If you’re not, there’s a chance you may feel like one on your big day!  So, the question is, do you know how to look your best for the camera?  I have put together a list of what I believe to be the most important ways to ensure that you’re camera-ready:

1.  Be yourself!  This is a must do… it’s YOUR day.  Relax, enjoy getting pampered, and soak in every minute of it!  All of the planning is finally over– now it’s time to take it all in!  By relaxing and savoring all of these special moments you will exude confidence.  Believe me when I say you will be the most gorgeous person in the room!

2.  Practice smiling :).  This may sound awkward and silly… but sit in front of your mirror and smile at yourself.  Smile as big as Miss America on pageant day!

3.  Whiten those teeth!  Easy peasy.  Crest white strips are cheap and will get the job done.

4.  Treat yourself to a manicure.  It’s time to show off that new bling, girl!

5.  Hair and make-up trial.  Do this… please.  A practice run (or even two) will relieve so much anxiety on your wedding day.  It is much easier to tell your hairdresser you’re not digging your ‘do’ a week before your wedding rather than on the day of.  Trust me on this… it is 100% worth it!

6.  LOL!  Seriously!  You need to be prepared to laugh out loud.  I make all my clients do this.  A laugh that can be heard makes a world of difference in your photos.

7.  Get into position.  To make your neck look more elongated, drop your shoulders and raise your chin.  Imagine that you are being pulled upwards from the top of your head by a string.

8.  Love yourself.  I saved the best for last, as this is definitely the most important thing on the list.  Every single bride is beautiful on this day, regardless if you consider yourself to be too plain, not thin enough, not tan enough, etc.  You are about to marry the love of your life!  Trust me, you will look stunning.  Accept it, believe it and be confident;  the camera will see it :).
